Breaking News- From our special correspondent Bang Bang Taneja

Breaking News

The players of Angel & Demons team staged a Dharna today in front of their captain’s Neeraj’s room after their victory against Deewar. They wanted justice from him. As per the information obtained from reliable sources , Some of the players were unhappy playing with substandard teams in MCL & felt their game is being deteriorated by getting complacent. It has to be noted that Angels & Demons team broke through Deewar as if it was made of paper. Probably , it lacked the strength of Ambuja cement.

Captain Neeraj tried to console a few all rounders who felt that they are marginalising their fans as they don’t get to bowl or bat fully as their team wins the match beforehand. There have also been some stories circulating about Shakey being the party pooper for many. Some internal frictions seem to have surfaced since when Shakey batted for about 18 overs & didn’t let any one else bat.

Some of the Angels were seen giving tips to opposite team players before the match today. The team is also thinking of fielding Angels as one team & Demons as another to uplift the quality of competition in MCL. Though both the Scammies are in this team only , but it seems highly unlikely to tamper with MCL team formation. One of the players on the condition of anonymity said , “ This is disgusting. Deewar got out in 12 overs flat. And , we batted for 8 overs & won the game convincingly. Is this what 20 over match meant ? I would prefer getting cosy in the blanket rather than coming at 7am in the match for such a travesty of competitive spirit. “

Captain Neeraj Narayanan has his task cut out . He will also have to motivate the team to play matches & probably try out dice to decide the batting opening hassles. Otherwise , the team may just drench itself in complacency & win all the rest of the matches ruthlessly. This will not only spoil the enthusiasm & excitement for the spectators but also set a wrong example for unequal teams for MCL,09.

Oh God ! Please give some superpower to opposite team players so that we can see some nice , exciting , competitive cricket in the coming weeks.

  1. Well Rohit, I guess the credit goes to the excellent management that the team is under! Kudos to the AnDz :)

  2. this had to happen since you are the ones who made 2 sub-standard teams for MCL..so 220 runs was not a surprise..the quality of play had to go down this time..3 equally divided teams from each batch would have resulted in more competitive matches..No offense meant to any team

  3. @Akshay : You were the favourites dude for winning the MCL . Wat happned ?

  4. @Akshay,

From what i know, we got the strongest first year team out for 51 runs. So, i dont think you should blame the quality of play...

  5. @ neeraj...If you look carefully i have only mentioned the 220 run match not the one in which you bowled them out for 51 because i know that must have been a good performance by your team...and for our curiously passionate mican..i think you are forgetting that we made three teams and your batch made two..who knows what would have happened if you had made 3 equally divided teams like us.
Ans as far as being favourites goes..the strength of our batch was apparent in the 7 match series..you guys declined to play the final two matches after we were leading 4-1..you could have at least played for pride man. And if you say that you did not have aneesh (team not full strength)..well..in 5 matches, 18 players played for our team, manas played only one match, dalania missed two matches and handa played only one match..three of our first team players..I dont think Mr. Curiously passionate mican you can have anything to say on that account..you won MCL last time and kudos to that..i just stated the facts in my post..if you think carefully, the 2 weak teams are so weak that the other 4 don't have to work hard enough to get to the semis..like probably all teams last time had to (except for Ashvin's team, who i concede played damn well)..getting into the semis should be a challenge
@neeraj: no offense was meant to your side..you know pretty well what i want to say

  7. @Akshay,

Din notice that it was only the 220 run match you were referring to, earlier. Just did, and point taken.

    @Curiously passionate mican,

Am eagerly waiting for your response to akshay's comment :)

  8. @akshay : first of all , i take a bow. didn't realise you were Appu sir ! thought , it's akshay Ajanta(PGP-1).So, the context changes.

The curiously passionate MICAn s Rohit Taneja. without doubt, the last year teams were better , more equitably distributed. also, there were a few players who could themselves take team to the finals.
    Can't compare the two MCL's.
The two substandard teams for MCL were made as an outcome of the interest shown by the likes of Twinky to lead a team. also , the enthusiasm shown by the likes of Gadi & GB2 to make a difference by their competitive spirit.
Probably , the captains , scammies & other organising thinktank couldn't come up with the idea or didn't have the guts to accept 3 teams , seeing their own team getting depleted of resources.

  9. Rohit!! hehe...mazza aaya isme to :P

Well, if Twinky, Gadi and GB2 wanted it that way then its good that the opportunity was given to them..but just a couple of players here and there would have helped matters...anyway, good luck to those 2 teams..may they pull of an upset and make things interesting :)

all said and done..have a great MCL.
    Cheers!

PS. Sunne me aaya hai ki aaj Neeraj first ball me bowled ho gaya Sunder ki bowling pe..Your captain is back in form :P

  10. @Akshay,

Pity dude that these days you have to count on a 6 o clock practice session to take potshots on people. Koi nahi, since those are the only moments that you can soak in pleasure, let it be so.

  11. hehehe..koi nahi neeraj..6 o'clock practice sessions don't make getting out on Sunder's bowling an excusable thing :)
no disrespect to Sunder..in fact Kudos to him for getting a regular player out :)
