Mica Cricket League- The premier sporting event at MICA was conceptualised by 4 MICAns from the 2007-09 batch. There are 6 teams participating in this event with each team playing with all others and the top 4 teams qualify for the Semi-finals and so on. Every year, the MCL teams are named after a common theme- this time around the theme is movies. So the 6 teams are Deewar, Inglourious Basterds, Khote Sikke, X-Men, Angels & Demons and The Untouchables.
MCL has brought out the best in MICAns and new players have emerged and attained momentary stardom. Last MCL witnessed some of the most stunning matches where all predictions could go on. Whether it be a team chasing 126 slumping at 26/6 and still managing to win or a team defending 2 runs in 2 overs with 4 wickets to spare and still winning. This time again, MCL sure promises to be a treat to the spectators with exciting matches and stand-out performances.
MCL is getting hotter with the introduction of MCL-Super Selector. For the first time in MICA, this concept has been introduced. This has not only created a huge buzz in the campus, but also generated excitement for MCL from non-players also. A budget of 1100 points is allotted within which the contestants have to pick their teams. The players have been divided into 120, 100 and 80 points on the basis of ability and form (decided through a vote by the opposing teams).
